kiku's torment

Would it be a good idea to use torment as a merfolk?

I know kiku reduces tormenting dmg, but I don't think I can find an occasion to use it.

I think it can help your undead minions defeat melee monsters if you don't take part in the fight.

It's obviously best if you're undead, but it can be helpful against things like deep troll packs or other high hp groups, especially if you have undead minions. Kiku reduces torment dmg to something like 1/3 instead of 1/2 for the living with no rN+

Careful with kiku torment reduction - On average you lose only 20%HP at max piety (16% with rN+++), but it varies a lot from one instance to another - sometimes he blocks it completely, sometimes it's a reduction, sometimes not at all. Don't rely on it for every single instance.

I don't use torment much. My suggestion with Kiku: Large Abominations. Those follow you from floor to floor, so a trip through orc and lair will give you an army large enough to topple nations by accident.
If you really want to use torment, then make sure there's a lot of undead between you and the things trying to kill you. Never use it while alone.
