Uniques music

Uniques music

Am I the only one who has certain songs come into his mind when certain uniques come into view?

I always make the following associations:

Jessica: Top Gear theme (which is called "Jessica")
Erica: Mambo no. 5 ("a little bit of Erica on my mind...")
Roxanne: Police song (i.e. "Roxanne, you don't have to put out the red light...")
Rupert: Rupert the bear theme

Thoughts?

I usually think about "Duck Tales"

When clearing Hells I usually think about (and often listen to) Holy Thunderforce by Rhapsody of Fire

Hey! I have two small kids. Which is why my musical tastes are way out of date - don't get time to listen to much, apart from the Numberjacks, In the Night Garden and Rupert the Bear. I play Crawl as a means of keeping my sanity...

Dude, I seriously doubt you're 12 years old. I mean, I know I shouldn't judge, man... there're many countries in this world, all kind of people, cultures, but... well... is twelve really twelve?

Snap! eldest 4 in 2 weeks, youngest 17 months. Lovely girls, but you can't leave them alone for a second. Top Gear - I was thinking of the time that Slash from Guns 'n' Roses appeared on the show and did his take on Jessica - I thought it rocked, but maybe I'm getting old.

Fair enough: my life was pretty different before I had kids, too. In fact, looking back I don't know how I managed to fill all the time.

I won't hold myself hostage to fortune by proposing any music - instead, I'll suggest you browse this thread on which various forumites have posted things they're listening to.

The Top Gear theme is a cover of an Allman Brothers song anyway, although the name of it escapes me at the moment.

E: Granted, the cover isn't as good as the original, but I don't see a problem with liking the song or the show.

I listened to a version of the original and agree it's better. I don't have a problem with you liking the show, either, but I wouldn't watch it myself.

It's certainly not for everyone. I tried watching the US version once, and despite the similarities I found it unwatchable. I suspect any version depends on how entertaining you find the hosts

Re: Uniques music

I don't listen to music when I play crawl,
I'll play sometimes crawl while listen to music,
once I got scream1 and just had to listen to:
Divine - schoot your shot
because when I was young I always thought this meant like: shoot your shout! And this makes no sence, now years later....

This brings up some other good matches I thought.
So I was looking swiftly trough my library:

some worth noticing:

When worshipping Cheibriados:
Zagar and Evans - Jear 2525

While confused:
ELO - Confusion

XOM:
Combustible Edition - Vertigogo

Useing primary projectiles:
Nancy Sinatra - Bang Bang

Worshiping Beogh:
Jonny Cash - Personal Jesus

Worshiping Lucy:
Iggy Pop - The Passenger

Entering the Temple:
The Monkees - I'm a Believer

Tengu get flying:
Oliver Onions - Flying through the Air

MF/OP:
Smoke City - Underwater Love

Worshiping Fedhas:
Terry Jacks - Seasons in the Sun

Worshiping Vehumet:
Snap - I've got the Power

Playing a summoner:
Steve Kekana - Raising my Family

Entering Crypt:
The Cranberries - Zombie

Starting Game:
Beastie Boys ft. Santigold - Don't play no Game That I Cant Win

Save-quitting
Gloria Gaynor - I will survive

Loosing:
Skinny - Failure

Entering Spider:
The Cure - Lullaby

Entering Sholas:
The Trashmen - Surfin' Bird

Worshiping Nemelex:
Attwenger - Muamen

Being a stabber:
IAMX - I come with Knives

and finaly worshiping Elyvilon:
Al Bano & Romina Power - Liberta

I could go on and on and on but I'm running out of good music ^^

Indeed! I doubt that I'll ever get that out of my head from now on ...!

If we're talking about general crawl themes, not just uniques, then there are two more that always play in my head in some situations:

When invoking Oka's Heroism: The Xena theme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVEU7sBXNH4 (from 0:30)

And ... much, much worse:

When I play an IE, the first few times I cast Throw Icicle after getting it online, something (something!) in my head always sings this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GugsCdLHm-Q But with misheard lyrics: "Icicle! Icicle! I want to throw my icicle, I want to throw my ice."

What can I say in my defense? I had a difficult childhood, your honor.
