Have you tried obvious things like reinstalling DCSS again, and also restarting your computer?

There's a reason roguelikes are very hard. You've just discovered it.

In all seriousness, check your graphics card driver, restart your computer, redownload and reinstall DCSS.

It's been reported already.

Blacksheep said some people fixed it by changing the colour depth of their display.

Make sure you're using up-to-date drivers for your graphic card and that they support OpenGL.
