Doesn't it help to build Ashenzari piety picking up every ghost rune? It sure gave the message about Ash appreciating the discovery when I picked up the second one.

Even if it's doing so, it's not game breaking or exploitable (max of 4 runes on a relatively late level). Plus the multi-rune bug gonna be fixed someday.

It is not a game breaking bug, I agree. But spamming astral vision on surrounding corridors of the Vaults:5 might just make things easier. I found the third silver rune and never picked it up just because of the possibilty of exploiting a game bug. I hope it's gonna be fixed soon
