Freezed PC on Tiles startup

Hi,

My problem is, everytime I'm trying to play the game, the black screen appears and my PC freezes. ALT+CTRL+DEL and other stuff don't work. I have to restart my PC.
I've got Windows 7 32-bit Home. I've seen that many win7 and 8 users have the same problem or similar.

I have done all the solution I have found.
Window mode, reduce window resolution, add rule to my firewall. Nothing works.
I have a nVidia graphic accelerator with newest drivers (yesterday updated).

PS: When I was using Windows XP everything was working fine (0.9 version). I had over 1 year of break from this game

Where did you get the graphics card driver from, nVidia or Windows Update?

If you haven't gotten it from Nvidia, then go ahead and do so.

Also, just a For-Your-Information here - "Graphics Accelerator" is a really ancient term, things have grown so much out of proportions that the things are restampled as "Graphics Processing Unit"s. (Thus GPU)

Directly from nVidia website.

PS: Well, this issue is more weird than I thought. I've tested archive Tiles Dungeon Crawl from 0.7 to 0.10 and it seems that every version above 0.7 is crashing my (and many others I guess) PC. Excatly from 0.7.1 :/ I don't know why but it is. Maybe devs added something to that version that's why Windows 7 and 8 has problems with it ?

If you're running in fullscreen, try disabling that by setting tile_full_screen = false in init.txt.

Ok... Now I'm totally confused and satisfied either.

It seams that Dungeon Crawl 0.11 is working but... after installation

Does that mean that the zipped version wasn't working but now that you ran the installer it does?

Exactly.
Zipped version was freezing my PC but Installer version does not.

It's just a suggestion but maybe it has meaning to have together both Tales and Console version of the game on PC ?? Maybe that's why Win 7 and 8 has problems ?? It's just a suggestion

I think it's more likely that Windows 7 is restrictive about the privileges it grants to applications running in an arbitrary directory.

Is there a chance to fix this problem ??

Try disabling fullscreen as I mentioned above; also, if privileges are the problem, running the game as administrator should work.
