Screen Flashes When Running Tiles on Linux

Hello, I'm trying to run Dungeon Crawl in Tiles mode on the Sabayon Linux distribution, but the screen flashes. It blinks from black to being able to see the game.

The console version works fine but I'd really like to be able to play tiles, does anyone have any idea what might be going on?

Are you running in full screen mode?
