Linux bug?

Hello everybody!

I just tried to install a DC tiles version for Linux (Ubuntu 11.10) from Ubuntu Software Center (version "crawl-tiles 2:0.8.1-1") and it doesn`t run at all. I tried everything - it seems the program doesn`t start. Is there a proper version in Ubuntu Software Center?
How can I run the program?
Thanx for the answers.
Sorry for disturbing, but on Windows XP I had no problems playing Dungeon Crawl.

Re: Linux bug?

Post moved to the interface & software forum.

Start it from a terminal to see the error message.
Try installing the latest version (see the Packages for Debian-based Operating Systems section on the download page).
Make sure you have proper OpenGL drivers.
<+Grunt> You dereference an invalid pointer! Ouch! That really hurt! The game dies...
