I'd like to come back to crawl after a long break. In between, among several changes of computers, I lost my SSH configuration. No problem, I thought, I just download the keys from the website and configure anew.

However, I can't seem to find any information about this on https://crawl.develz.org/ anymore. How do I setup SSH and what (European) servers allow console play?

(Is playing on the console depreciated nowadays in crawl? That would be quite a deal breaker for me.)

Welcome back, playing in the console is not depreciated, you can find instructions and keys for online console play on this page. I know for a fact that CXC (France) allows console play for instance.
