How to CHANGE the Save and Morgue Directories

I know there are threads on finding these folders, I want to CHANGE them to the working directory (where crawl-tiles.exe lives)

Using 0.8.0 Tiles under 64-bit Windows 7 with full Administrator rights

I have created folders in the install path: C:\Games\Dungeon Crawl\Saves and C:\Games\Dungeon Crawl\Morgue and tried all the following in the init.txt file with no luck:

morgue_dir = C:\Games\Dungeon Crawl\Morgue
morgue_dir = C:/Games/Dungeon Crawl/Morgue
morgue_dir = ..//Morgue
morgue_dir = ..\\Morgue
morgue_dir = ..//Morgue/
morgue_dir = ..\\Morgue\

Tried the exact same format with the saves lines as well. Yes I did uncomment them. :P

So does this actually work or not? Assuming I can get it to work, will this new path also be the location where a Character Dump will be saved?

Thanks

I have the same situation: unable to redefine the morgue path. Eventually I made a shortcut to the morgue folder (the game shows it to you every time you dump or die) and placed it into the Crawl folder.

Re: How to CHANGE the Save and Morgue Directories

I have fixed the issue, redefining paths for windows installer builds works. You can do it with any of:

  • save_dir and morgue_dir options.
  • -dir command line option.
  • CRAWL_DIR environment variable.
<+Grunt> You dereference an invalid pointer! Ouch! That really hurt! The game dies...
