Octopode beastly apendage bug?

Hi,

I played octopode transmuter and had wierd interaction recently between beastly appendage and mask of the dragon. When i cast appendage, mask melded (and became inactive). Now i understand that spell says auxiliary armor on that bodypart melds but i had nothing in tentacles and mask was i presume on head slot. I did not grow horns, i grew tentacle spike so why did the mask meld? Is there something i dont know or it really is a bug?

Don't know, but this question might be better suited to "Dungeon Crawling Advice" as it's basically about what a game mechanic actually does.

I'd still class this as a bug, even if it's a known issue.

Though I wouldn't necessarily give fixing it much priority.
