Lost save files when upgrading from .15 to .16

I recently updated my offline version from .15 to .16. Usually all of my save files remain intact (although they have to accommodate changes between versions) but in this case my save files disappeared. My high score list is gone as well. Are they permanently gone? Or where would I find them? And how would I get them back into my game?

Likely you used an installer that changed the directory in which those things are stored, you'll need to find the old location for morgue/save folders and move them over to the new location.
