[sugg] rescale claws for stabbing based on species size

Thinking Claws should be scaled to the size of the creature.
Troll is large, right? Then Claws = Long Blade.
Felid is small (or normal), right? Claws = Short Blade.

Claws 1 = short blade
Claws 2 + large = long blade
Claws 3 + Normal = long blade

Ghouls with Claws 1 = short blade.

I think the idea is to allow Felids to stab. Felids actually have good aptitudes for a stabber build, except they can't wield a dagger. If their claws can stab (or they otherwise get a stabbing exception) then this would be viable.

It's not like Felids are overpowered anyway. And thematically, big cats mostly attack from ambush, so this should fit in too.

(Along that line of thought, should Vampire fangs be allowed to stab? But at least Vampires can wield daggers...)

This seems like a good idea, but maybe just to simplify things - make it so any Unarmed Combat Strike counts for a Full Stabbing Bonus. This would be with Claws or without any Claws; though stabbing chance could be effected by size.

Sorry, I couldn't resist after being prompted like that.

It would be interesting to have a half-decent stabbing multiplier on Trolls, though. It would be interesting for trolls using Unarmed+Mephitic or whatever.

I wonder if anyone could pull off a barehanded Troll Enchanter.

God forbid felids or trolls do anything but aa tab... that would make the game too complicated. This would enable more choice in building your characters which is clearly a bad and confusing thing.

It never made sense to me that a cat could slice off a hydra's head, and in the same way claws shouldn't count as a long blade for stabbing.

My suggestion (normal + claws 3 / large + claws 2/3) was only based on the established stuff.

In my example, the "short blade" claws wouldn't decapitate.

I was agreeing, my point being that recently claws 1/2 were made not to slice hydra heads, so it doesn't make sense that they still stab like long blades.
