Safely Unwielding Distortion Brands

To safely unwield a distortion weapon without any effects, become transformed (via the Flight card or Spider Form or (untried) Blade Hands spell and answer 'N' to the question "Switch back to main weapon?".

I just tried this and it works (and added it to the game wiki).

1) Is this the correct and expected behavior?

2) Are there additional ways to safely unwield?

This trick also allows you to evade Ash's cursed weapon stickiness.

You get a distortion unwield effect upon transforming, so it works out exactly the same as if you'd just unwielded it.

I used the card and I don't recall noticing it; maybe I missed it?

Yes, you get the unwield effect when you draw the card (which is metamorphosis and not flight by the way). But you don't get the prompt because you can't cancel the form. That's probably why you didn't noticed it.

This is a known bug and will be fixed.

Flight card does transform you too at high power sometimes, actually. :P

But yeah, there'd be no prompt, so that could be the reason as galehar mentioned.
