Should IMB now warn for ally targeting?

Should IMB now warn for ally targeting?

This just happened... had to blink and abjure, was down to 9hp.

I think IMB should warn like other spells that could likely hit an ally. On the other hand, it is used so much that a warning might slow down gameplay.

What do you think?

EDIT:or just make summoned/allies immune to the effect, as the player.

Re: Should IMB now warn for ally targeting?

In trunk, IMB now has a targetter (shows you what squares will/might be hit) and a better tracer (prompts if you would hit an ally, an unaware monster under TSO, etc), thanks to sgrunt. There are still some bugs with it (you can be warned multiple times for the same monster), but hopefully it should help prevent inadvertently offending any charmed Executioners :)

Re: Should IMB now warn for ally targeting?

Since I see from your screenshot that you're playing trunk, I'll point out that the new IMB targetter which addresses this problem arrived in its initial form in 0.11-a0-2824-g30fc117, though tweaks have been made to it since then up to and including 0.11-a0-2896-g7337c72.

Basically, update your game and your wish will be granted. :)

For this message the author sgrunt has received thanks:
