There is pretty much no way to get an enchanted giant or giant spiked club except via Elrocha, a god gift, or by enchanting it yourself as far as I know. Why is it like this?

It's a giant stick. It's a piece of tree an ogre found in the forest.

I know I have gotten enchanted GSCs from standard ogres before. Certainly I've been killed by them and seen the enchantment in the death message. They aren't in every game, though.

Weren't enchantments removed from clubs en-masse back in 0.9?
