Hunger level disparity

Although the central place for design discussion is ##crawl-dev on freenode, some may find it helpful to discuss requests and suggestions here first.

Hunger level disparity

It seems a bit odd and slightly offputting how the food level between normal and hungry is far greater than the food level between hungry and very hungry. Or is it? Is it in my head? If it is, what's the gameplay justification for it?

EDIT: Hrm, The Back Room section of the forum is available now; for some reason, when I looked for it before posting I couldn't find it. A mod can move this there if they want.

It's not a linear scale. I don't see any problem with that.
<+Grunt> You dereference an invalid pointer! Ouch! That really hurt! The game dies...

Re: Hunger level disparity

Well I mean it just kinda sneaks up on you. You're normal, and after a while you get hungry, and you figure "Okay it took a while, I should be alright" but in about half that time you're already very hungry. If it's meant to be like that for whatever reason, I guess, alright. Just seems a bit off.
