Brom's Barrelling Boulder

Just encountered this new Earth/Conjurations spell and wondered who coughed that one up. It seems to be entirely useless.

  • level 4
  • max damage 2d11 (Sandblast has 2d20!)
  • extremely situational (needs empty space between player and monster, works only in the cardinal directions, needs walls to be in the right spot to cause extra damage)
  • unreliable (may veer off course)
  • is supposed to buy some time by knocking opponents back, but it is in the way that you can't shoot at them

Can anybody explain to me why I should not read a scroll of amnesia for this? So far I have used it a couple of times and always found it to be a waste of MP and time.

They're situationally overpowered. I mean you can take on a troll with only BBB fairly early on.

But I can't really say I'm a fan either.

BTW, why haven't you moved to the tavern 2.0?
