At the moment, Microsoft Edge flags the Windows installer for 0.26 as dangerous, and strongly suggests deleting it.

Maybe it can be submitted to Microsoft for review (if it hasn't already been done):

Submit files to Microsoft Defender SmartScreen for review
If you believe a warning or block was incorrectly shown for a file or application, or if you believe an undetected file is malware, you can submit a file to Microsoft for review ( https://www.microsoft.com/wdsi/filesubmission/ ). For more info, see Submit files for analysis. ( https://docs.microsoft.com/it-it/window ... sion-guide )

When submitting Microsoft Defender SmartScreen products, make sure to select Microsoft Defender SmartScreen from the product menu.

The devs would have to submit for every release though. It's not worth the effort and is not a big problem.

You just have to accept Microsoft is retarded and stop giving them special treatment. This is a general fact of life: people don't even try to get their code working in Edge anymore, for example.

I figure at some point if DCSS is still around in 20 years Windows might not be supported at all and it will be 100% webtiles.

I really hope we don't end up with just webtiles, because the input lag is huge and really not worth it in comparison to the installer, if you don't care about other players.
