Where did this skill come from?

Where did this skill come from?

I'm playing a High Elf Gladiator on CAO, 0.10-a0-795-gd7df244.

I just saw these messages:
  Code:
You hit the ogre.
 You kill the ogre!
You have gained Slings skill! You have gained Armour skill!

I haven't seen a sling yet this game. There isn't one in my inventory, and there isn't one found by ctrl-f. I haven't wielded one or fired one.

I am carrying some sling bullets in my inventory in case I find a sling.

Do gladiators start with slings skills now?
Do blow guns use sling skill instead of throwing? The item description still mentions throwing.

Is this a bug?

EDIT:
Around the corner was another Ogre, and when I killed it I got Bows skill. I haven't seen a bow or picked up arrows.

Add Short Blades and Invocations to the list of skills earned without ever being used. At this rate, I'll be level 1 in everything before long.

Seems like a bug. This is what the Mantis is for.

Yeah, I introduced this bug. I've fixed it already but gitorious is down right now, so I can't push it.
<+Grunt> You dereference an invalid pointer! Ouch! That really hurt! The game dies...

Awwwh, I kinda liked it lol Made training up skills easier... Especially casting schools that I want late but don't want to waste a slot on early :D
