Felids should be able to wear hats

Probally the only thing that would make sense for them to wear. that and maybe cloaks. i know they got some benefits to cover their lack or armor unuseability but this could make them slightly better i guess?

Re: Felids should be able to wear hats

Cloaks are too big, but hats/scarfs are justifiable. IMO scarfs make even more sense than hats. Presumably if the cat can read scrolls, zap wands, and wear rings it has sufficient dexterity to wrap a scarf around itself, and in contrast to cloaks it wouldn't cover its entire body.

Bonus points if doing so gives you a tile that looks stupid.

Re: Felids should be able to wear hats

I'm in favor of them getting at least one body slot available for armour. Barring that, it'd be nice to see a frequency increase on how often spells like Statue Form or Dragon Form appear in the game. Thematically, it's very entertaining on occasion to play 'Orange-Tabby-Murder-Machine', but I lose interest quickly with the No-Armour, Low-HP dilemma and no guarantee of finding a powerful Transmutation spell to work around the weaknesses.

Also, allowing a cloak or scarf would give us a palette for a crazy unrand like "Frayed Yarn-Ball". It used to be a scarf until DeathKitty shredded it to tatters, and he still wears it around the dungeon, stopping every 50-100 turns to pounce on the threads he's dragging around.

Worth it for the Seuss connection alone. Felid warper with a box of beasts?

Re: Felids should be able to wear hats

Definitely don't think tweaking spell likelihood is the way to go. You can pick Sif Muna and train it if you want that.

Felids are competent blaster casters, owing to speed and that they can fling hunger-inducing spells while staying on 100% chunks pretty easily (speed is much more important, but flinging OOD with near impunity is useful too). They're also solid stabbers for obvious reasons. What hurts them the most is that they are more often put in situations where they *can't* get resists. Hats and scarfs are good thematically because you'll get 2 AC between them for most runs while the resists are far less punished.
