Dropping wands and not picking them up after

Hi, it bugs me the game doesn't turn the auto-pickup option of wands off when you drop one (which clearly means you aren't gonna pick more up next), and it's kinda annoying to turn the auto-pickup option off manually after dropping the wand(s) you don't want. Thank you.

And same suggestion for potions, if you drop a stack of agility potions, you're generally not gonna pick some up after it.

I am not sure. How are you going to try a weapon when out of slots or how are you going to enter trove or lab? Probably there should be 2 commands: 1) just drop 2) drop and remove from autopickup
Underestimated: cleaving, Deep Elf, Formicid, Vehumet, EV
Overestimated: AC, GDS

Re: Dropping wands and not picking them up after

I would suggest:

* Dropping an identified consumable removes it from autopickup
* Picking up an identified consumable adds it to autopickup

If I come out of that trove and don't pick those brilliance potions up again, I was probably only carrying them because I hadn't bothered to drop them yet.

Re: Dropping wands and not picking them up after

Ah, no. Most players develop a stash somewhere, where they drop stuff they don't want to carry around all the time, but still want to collect, such as potions of mutation, or scrolls of enchant weapon, and so on. You don't want to have them on you, as you only need them for rare situational out-of-combat uses, but you still want to collect all of them you find lying around somewhere. Therefore VAF's solution has great merits.

I'd take it a step further and say that non-tactical consumables shouldn't take up inventory space at all. What's the gameplay benefit of needing to wander off to grab those enchant scrolls?
