Joseph the Mercenary doesn't even drop hats (as far as I've seen).
Making him drop a hat (Preferably an artifact one) will be awesome.

Oh, I see.
Technical limitations prevent him from actually wearing a hat.

If anyone can think up something neat, I think a "+3 Wiglaf's Hat" would be well received by the players.
