Remake wands and ring of tel

removing wand of heal/tel/haste is good idea
these item are too strong and waste inventory slot
but i think we still have three problems

1. It makes mage too difficult
Stop nerfing mage class .enough

2.DD lost his/her personality
Mu lost his/her recovery tool

3.we need more inventory slot
Since the weight system and item destruction is gone,
inventory management skills are no longer important
You do not feel threatened. It's just annoying.


I have an idea to solve these problem,,,

1) convert ring of teleportation to ring of random blinking

because ring of tel is obviously useless
have you ever used this?
It just wastes a scroll of remove curse

Ring of blinkig
the cost is HP
failure and distance influenced by evocation skill
now silenced mage has escape tool. but It is a dangerous way
(do you love lugonu?It it not unfair
remind amulet of rage :P)

2. convert potion of heal wounds to wand of heal wounds

amount of healing influenced by evocation skill
high evocation increases the maximum healing range

now Mummies can restore their HP
DD player can play games more comfortably
(remove DD's ability or not)

3. make wands stackable and remove recharging wands function

If you pick up same wand , wands are merged.
(reduce base charge,increase max charge)
This means you can only have one by type.
moreover, you can't recharging wands anymore!
Want to charging wands ? fine one.
scroll of recharging is still available for rods
(adujust drop rate)
The maximum charge of healing wounds wand prevents scumming

how about this?

Thanks...but could you explain me? example) how can silenced mage run away from mennas? Just I'm curious. :)

Try a Fan of Gales to shove Mennas away from you. Other evocables also help for creating water/webs/allies to interfere with him chasing you. Also use !Haste (if you're not a Mummy, anyway).

It is rare that you encounter mennas in a situation where you can do nothing to avoid engaging him in the first place, and in the situation that you do it's good(in general, not just for mennas) to have a way to deal with things besides magic. ex: sack of spiders with good evo is very good against mennas(and most monsters, really). With this and decent defenses you can stall until his silence becomes small enough for you to read tele, or with a decent melee weapon and some buff potions+allies from evoc you can fight him.

Mummy will be destroyed by Mennas in trunk, but it is not that different from 0.19, at least with Chei.

Isn't Mennas usually revealed by his halo before you even get in sight of him? Given that, it becomes fairly easy in most circumstances to avoid fighting.

Unless you use autoexplore. I remember suggestions to make autoexplore stop when halo/silence aura comes in view but it hasn't been implemented as far as I know.
