i do alot of a little of everything, and when its done, i don`t feel sped up but just normal speed. thats what trog should say when slow is over, ``you feel regular speed.`` instead of ``you feel you`reself speed up.`` thats what I think, now what?

Wrong, that's not what you think.

The current message also functions with fast+slow when slow ends.

Why can't we have "Slow is over" when slow is over?

You could use it for all status. "Mighty/Slow/etc" is over. It doesn't sound very good though. I'd go with "you aren't slowed any more".

Yes, it might help with RC files.

I might have
  Code:
runrest_stop_message += is about to expire

instead of
  Code:
runrest_stop_message += Your transformation is almost over
runrest_stop_message += You flicker for a moment
runrest_stop_message += You are starting to lose your buoyancy
runrest_stop_message += Your skin is crawling a little less now
runrest_stop_message += Your icy armour starts to melt

and

  Code:
runrest_stop_message += over

instead of
  Code:
runrest_stop_message += revert to their
runrest_stop_message += You float gracefully
runrest_stop_message += Your .* disappears
runrest_stop_message += You feel less protected from missiles

"You revert to your normal speed."

But if you're hasted+slowed, then slow wears off, you don't really revert to your normal speed, you revert to hasted speed. Revert might not even be the right word, because you could have been hasted after being slowed. You only revert to normal speed after the haste wears off in that case.

I think the current message is doing the job it's supposed to do quite well.

"You are no longer not the speed you were before"

That's not much good because it does not tell you if you got faster or slower.

Wait, flickering means that invisibility is fading? I thought it meant that the invisibility spell had failed for an aut and your enemies had a better idea of your position.

It's equivalent of "Invisibility is about to expire". As a non-native English speaker I have problems understanding all those customized messages. For example, I don't know what "flickering" means (just checked a dictionary to learn it's something like "vibrating").

devs
Can I submit a patch with new language like "simplified English" where all those messages are replaced with "foo is about to expire"?

Just FYI, flickering isn't really like vibrating. A flickering light is turning on and off extremely quickly, like when a big fluorescent light is first turned on.
A flickering invisible person would be turning visible then invisible extremely quickly, which means it's kind of a bad message since it really just means it's about to run out.

Yes, it's more like flashing in this context.
http://www.dictionary.com/browse/flickering

Also flickering might imply that monsters had a chance to notice me while in reality they did not, I am still invisible and always was from the moment of casting the spell.

Yeah, exactly. It's a bit misleading. Something like "You feel that you are about to become visible" might be better. That or just "Your invisibility is about to expire".

Or: "You feel your absolute transparency inexorably retreating toward a state of mere translucence, reminiscent of a fine mist obscuring Luna on an otherwise clear autumnal eve".

That's probably the clearest way to say it.

Absolutely. I am sure I will be happy to learn "inexorably", "reminiscent" and "autumnal" and also check "mist" and "translucence" to be sure I remember them right ;)
