Make banishing TRJ, either by the AK skill or by hitting with a distortion weapon, unlock the walls of Slime 5 (i.e., turn the walls from stone to transparent rock).

Banishing an enemy is in general effectively defeating them. It's easy enough to not notice, or to forget, that banishing TRJ is not like killing it for the purpose of getting past the walls to the rune. If you can banish TRJ with the AK ability, it's somewhat likely that you took care of its high MR with ?vuln, and in this case you could have pretty easily used some other hex approach to kill it (eg /para). So it's not really a significant buff to AK to make banishing TRJ a more reliable option. And more importantly who cares, it's not as if this is a big power boost and AK is not overpowered as it is.

If the player doesn't realize or forgets that banishment doesn't make the walls change, they can be stuck in an unpleasant spot. AK can corrupt to break the walls, but it is possible for corrupt to fail to break the correct wall (it has happened to me), and you can only corrupt a level once. Then, if you can't cast high level spells to crack stone, you either have to learn to do so, kite something that can back to Slime:5, or track down TRJ in the Abyss. You may not be able to do the first one at all, depending on the game's drops; and it is a waste of skill points when you can do the second or third, so you should probably do the second or the third. Neither of these is much fun at all, and there's no gameplay reason for the game to encourage it.

Related: make the walls just collapse when TRJ dies (because status quo is annoying garbage for a certain subset of Ru followers (or remove sacrifice artifice (or don't let sacrifice artifice and sacrifice earth magic be taken simultaneously))).

I would just let the walls turn into lava. Ru followers can jump there, you can use rings of flight, potions of levitation, wings, cblink, blink a bit until you get there, dragon form... It keeps the jellies permanently away, is Ru proof, and easier for other characters, too.

And let's not forget how awsome is walls collapsing and turning into lava after you destroyed the deity that kept them there, and it makes more sense flavor-wise!

Re: lava. It's nice flavor-wise, but I'd prefer not to have to find and drag down a source of flying just to clear the lava. If I bother with flight at all in a game, I've usually dropped it by that point. At least I always have digging with me, if it's in the game at all. Blinking over and over to clear the moats doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun, either.

I'd rather just have the walls crumble when TRJ is killed/banished. The level can be mapped and the items marked as seen to prevent jellies eating the loot ("as the infernal power leaves this place, knowledge floods your mind"---I'm sure someone can flavor this better than I can). A blunt solution, sure....

Well... the idea of just putting in runed doors would work too, and then you don't have to worry about marking the items as seen. Plus, runed doors appearing makes you feel like you accomplished something... or something.
