New spells

It's probably better for the wiki, but not all ideas are ready for the wiki and I like the forum more

Idea #1:

Olgreb's detoxification (Naming isn't my thing) poison\translocation 3 level

Effect: transfers poison from one body to another, smite targeting. Also, it allows translocating poison from wielded potions or poisoned chunks
Usage: Offensive healing, concentrating poison on one strong target after venom bolt\poison cloud\toxic radiance, killing summoners
Game effect: I think offensive nonconjuration spell is always good, makes potions of poison useful without evaporate, more uses for chunks, new strategies for venom mages , +1 spell to the smallest schools.

Re: New spells

Not a horrible idea. If I get it properly, it would combine all on-screen poison to one single individual in a concentrated poison?

Re: New spells

Can you explain what you mean by "offensive healing"?

Re: New spells

I.e. if you are poisoned, you are able to transfer it to another person while removing it from yourself.

Re: New spells

Okay. I was imagining something where you would get the HP that the monster was losing to poison. A ranged, continuous vampiric draining!

The ultimate kiting spell that would be!

Nope, I think it would be way to powerful, single source is enough

Re: New spells

So it is a sting that requires you to be poisoned before you can cast it? It sounds neat, but it is doomed to be yet another cool spell that nobody actually uses just like ignite poison.

Re: New spells

Yep it's basically Sting + Cure Poison in one spell.

Nope... you can cast it if:

1) You are poisoned
2) You wield potion(s) of poison
3) you wield poisonious chunk(s)
4) You have two monsters in LOS, one is poisoned, another is the one that you want to poison

And ignite poison is a good spell, It would be used if schools were better

To jump on the bandwagon, take Ignite Poison into Snake and see how fast you clear it. Then tell me it's something that nobody uses. (Just drop your poisoned ammo first, although everyone needs to make that mistake once...)
You fall off the wall. You have a feeling of ineptitude.

Re: New spells

Or Hive. Snake and Hive are almost silly when you have Ignite Poison.

Or when you also have Toxic Radiance. =D Doesn't take out the higher-level monsters, but it's able to clear the entire room of most types of orcs and gnolls and anything similarly-powered.

Re: New spells

So, nagas and kobolds would have unlimited use of this spell?

Re: New spells

Just because the kobold leaves behind a poisonous corpse doesn't mean it's poisonous when it's alive. And naga's already got a poison attack, so in gameplay mechanics it wouldn't make sense. Unless you replace the current naga ability with this.

Re: New spells

kobolds are poisonous while alive; try casting Ignite Poison

Re: New spells

Yeah I suppose that's a good point. But a kobold can still be poisoned, can't it? So being poisoned and having a poisonous body could be, for gameplay purposes, two different things.
