FR: Unifiy searchable items

Currently the search function does not work reliably with one search term for all items who have the desired quality. I propose to get rid of these cases.

Currently known to me:

Search for rcorr will give artifacts with rcorr, but not amulet of corrosion resistance.
Search for mr+ will give artifacts with mr+, but not ring of protection from magic.

That sounds like a straight-up but, I'd report on mantis.

rf+, rc+ also fail to find rings of protection from fire/cold

Re: FR: Unifiy searchable items

Slightly off topic, but I wonder also if searching "armor" could be special-cased to return results for "armour." I know Crawl is standardized to Australian English, but it's a very common search term, and a possible source of confusion for new players.

Crawl conditioning me has literally changed the way I spell armour in all contexts, so uhh, yeah I guess this would be a good one.

Re: FR: Unifiy searchable items

I'll join the "I sometimes write armour in non-Crawl contexts after playing a lot of Crawl" club. Especially since the most frequent case of me using the word outside of Crawl lately has been Path of Exile, which also spells it "armour" due to the developer being in New Zealand.

Luckily, there's no ikea shop in crawl.

Re: FR: Unifiy searchable items

What I'd liked to see in addition to this is a way to exclude all unusable (greyed out) items or probably even exclude them by standard and allow to include them if you really want to search for them.

(Not sure if there is such a thing already, the in-game help doesn't say so at least)

Re: FR: Unifiy searchable items

You can just press = in the search menu, this will grey out unusable items.

Thanks. Hiding useless items should be default behaviour though.
