Fedhas active ballistomycetes turn hostile

After you make an active ballistomycete with Fedhas, it is allied. Then when it explodes for the first time it turns hostile. This is a problem if you are tabbing things with a ranged weapon, because you autotarget the active ballistomycete and kill it, which not only reduces the number of times it can explode but makes Fedhas really unhappy. Is there any reason for this or is it a bug?

Sounds like a bug; checking Mantis against ballists shows this might not have been reported.
