Hex Success Chance Doesn't Take Holiness Into Account

The hex interface doesn't seem to take monster holiness into account when telling the chance of success with hexes. It says I have a 58% chance of confusing a gargoyle, but when I cast confuse on it, I get "The gargoyle is unaffected". Turns out gargoyle monsters are non-living, and confuse doesn't work on the non-living. But the interface gave no indication of this, both letting me target them and telling me I had pretty good odds.

There's a whole other can of worms here involving the inconsistencies between player and monster gargoyles, and the general messiness of the holiness system (but confuse worked on undead... undead aren't non-living?) but I mostly just wanted to bring up the fact that the hexes interface straight up lied to me about how effective my spell would be.
