Should using Reflection Shields issue a warning under TSO?

Should using Reflection Shields issue a warning under TSO?

When you play TSO, you can't attack the bewildered. I've occasionally used Shields of Reflection and accidentally had an enemy hit the shield and reflect and hit a bewildered enemy, causing TSO penance.

Should Shields of Reflection issue a warning or turn red under TSO? Should a player be warned about this aspect?

I might be wrong about this. It might be reflecting enemy attacks into Angels/Daeva that's causing it.

If reflected projectiles are marked as such (and if not, they should) then they should be excluded from your conduct restrictions, since you have no responsibility for what the hell the thing you reflected is or what it does after it is reflected.

I don't think anyone disagrees with this statement, I think it's just fraught with complications and special cases: the player needs to *not* be credited for the purposes of conduct/ally hostility/etc, but *does* need to be credited for XP purposes, since no one would want to use an item that could suddenly deny you 7.6k XP because that ancient lich just crystal speared itself.

In the course of the whole game, the exp loss resulting from monsters killing themselves via reflection would be totally negligible, though.

In other words, whether kills by reflection give experience or not doesn't matter at all.

You are right about the XP lost being negligible, of course. Although reflection NOT giving experience seems a little weird and special case-y. Maybe it's no problem at all, but it seems unintuitive to me. A bit like how summons are weird with XP (unless this has changed, I haven't played in awhile), which again, the XP is negligible, but might throw somebody off if they pay TOO much attention to their skill progressions (like myself).

Granted, this is all a non-issue for the most part.
If you are offended by something I've posted, just PM me. It probably wasn't intentional.

I thought this behavior was caused by reflecting spells that TSO hates, like a bolt of draining. Or had that been corrected?

Well, maybe not across the whole game but you could end up leaving Shoals with quite a bit less.

It's more of a quality of life issue. On the rare occasion that I decide to use shields, I like knowing I can ignore that Cyclops throwing large rocks and just let him kill himself (or another enemy). It would be annoying to feel I was losing XP by not killing him myself.

You should get the XP because it was your own Shield skill that allowed for the block (reflect).
