Re: Monster: Bone Dragon

It's not all a penalty, though. You're still weakening the bone dragon considerably by lowering their AC (though I'm not sure that really works if we raise their EV at the same time. Not that we necessarily *have* to raise their EV -- how good is a "falling-apart-skeletal-remains-monster" going to be at dodging things, anyway?) I kinda like the idea of fighting something that gradually falls apart during the battle.

Yes to having boneriders, btdubs, though the thought of an ancient lich spamming LCS at you from the back of a freaking skeletal dragon is kinda terrifying.

I kinda want to see artwork of that, now.

Well that's an ancient lich riding a bone dragon

And here's the tiles I used for obvious reference and a bit of the WIP.

How thematically a bone dragon would differ from a dragon skeleton?

Re: Monster: Bone Dragon

apparently a dragon skeleton is made of one dragon skeleton and a bone dragon is made from a bunch of dragon skeletons

So they could have two heads, four wings and one leg.

It's all that I could have ever dreamt "a lich riding a bone dragon" could be.

A dragon skeleton is just an ordinary skeleton thrall raised out of a dragon corpse.

A bone dragon is either a more powerful construct animated out of a dragon boneyard or all sorts of bones; or a more intelligent/powerful undead dragon

Every time a monster makes a movement (i.e. not an attack/spell), the amount of time taken to do its turn has a 1/3 chance of being 0.1 turns slower, a 1/3 chance of being 0.1 turns quicker and a 1/3 chance of being the normal amount. Over time, these 0.1s add up or cancel out to cause 'double moves' or 'lost moves'.

I just don't think any of those choices are strong enough for a bone dragon to mount.

Re: Monster: Bone Dragon

Perhaps a new type of mummy to ride the dragon and to spice up the tomb? Mummy warrior, comes with a weapon, armour, and a few weak spells.

Re: Monster: Bone Dragon

Why not have both? the lich version and a warrior version. The warrior version could get reaching? That'd keep things interesting - especially in crypt which could use with a bit more spice.

Clearly you have never been to tomb. It's the same three enemies over and over.

I actually meant to type tomb but I'm in crypt ingame now so there was some bleed over!

Re: Monster: Bone Dragon

Actually Tomb was changed recently, so now it spawns unborns, liches, skeleton warriors (well, it probably shouldn't spawn the latter). There are also more than one W:1 and W:2 (not sure about W:3).

It's the same general map, but with subvaults now. Didn't know about the monsters though.

Well it's different enough, of course it still feels and looks Tomb-y.
