Unique: Cerberus

Simple Unique idea. Cerberus; the Hound of Hell. It's technically a chimera with multiple breath weapons. It may replace Geryon on some runs and may be found in certain Hell entry (Depths) and Crypt: 5 Vaults. Barring those it can also be found wandering hell (any of the branches). Each of the hound's three heads holds a different element (Fire, Ice and Electricity); however, since it's not intelligent it will not intentionally try to use these elements against you, simply selecting at random. Like other Chimera and hellhounds, it can drop a corpse.

Cerberus (H) | Spd: 20 (move:200%) | HD: 15 | HP: 300 | AC/EV: 20/3 | Dam: 15 (fire: 12-36), 15 (cold:12-36), 15 (elec) | demonic, sense invisible, !sil | Res: magic(120), hellfire, fire+++, cold+++, rot, neg+++, torm | Vul: holy++, Silver | Chunks: mutagenic | XP: ~5500 | Sp: b.flame (3d30), b.cold (3d30), b.lightning (3d30), esc: Berserk | Sz: Huge| Int: animal.

Note: I also considered Fire, Cold, Pain and Fire, Cold, Hellfire before going with Fire, Cold, Electricity. I'm not strongly for or against any of those, I just thought two 'fire' ones was a bit overwhelmingly fire and b.draining 'breath' was weird.
I'm beginning to feel like a Cat God! Felid streaks: {FeVM^Sif Muna, FeWn^Dithmenos, FeAr^Pakellas}, {FeEE^Ashenzari, FeEn^Gozag, FeNe^Sif Muna, FeAE^Vehumet...(ongoing)}

Re: Unique: Cerberus

FWIW, we already have golden dragons which use randomly-alternating breath weapons, so that element of this unique wouldn't be particularly unique. It seems like the main thing this would add is another allusion to Greek mythology, which is fine, but not particularly exciting.

I have no particular objection to this monster, but it doesn't excite me either.

Also already have a unique capable of several different breath attacks (tiamat).

Re: Unique: Cerberus

Oh my god, that unique is fast. Maybe tone down the speed a bit, like speed 15 if you really want it to be speedy? You would have to cast swiftness and haste just to break even... 20 is a bit over the top in my opinion, at least for a unique.

Re: Unique: Cerberus

I think "(move: 200%)" part means it moves at normal speed and only melees/spams bolts at speed 20.

Re: Unique: Cerberus

Only chucks 3d30 bouncing bolts of elec and attacks with three different flavors at 20 speed while having 300 hps and 20 AC.
That said this doesn't sound like a particularly fun unique to fight.

On the other hand, Cerberus as proposed would have the distinction of being the only enemy that goes berserk when low on health and becomes *less* dangerous in doing so.

And no rPois. Haste + Curare makes this guy into a hatless gastronock.

As a side note, please come see my band, Hatless Gastronock.

Re: Unique: Cerberus

I think it would be cooler to have a 3 part unique, since AFAIK that doesnt exist. 100-50% HP, attacks as normal, like a 3 headed hydra but stronger. 50-25% HP, tries to kite you by breathing fire clouds and running (should be more than fair at that point given that you'll almost definitely have some form of ranged attack). <25%, it gets desperate and berserks.
Three wins: Gargoyle Earth Elementalist of Ash, Ogre Fighter of Ru, Deep Dwarf Fighter of Makhleb (0.16 bugbuild :( )
