Monster acts while using stairs

Is it the intended behaviour that after you've pressed "<" to go upstairs, a monster can paralyze you and thus prevent the movement? So after pressing "<" this happens:
  Code:
The sphinx casts a spell.
You suddenly lose the ability to move!
The sphinx mumbles some strange words.
You resist.
You can move again.
You fly upwards.
There is a stone staircase leading down here.

So after the paralysis wore off, the action to go upstairs was automatically completed. I think either it's a bug that you can be paralyzed in mid-action or that you complete the action after the paralysis.

The same has happened with vault wardens locking the stairs. I was standing on an unlocked staircase and there was a warden in LOS. I pressed "<" but the warden locked the stair before I managed to complete the action.

Using stairs takes more than one turn.

So he slammed the door at your face.
FR : you get damaged when this happens ! :D

and yeah, going up/down stairs cost 3.2 turns, if I remember correctly. but I don't know how much of this is before, and how much is after.

So I guess one could potentially be paralysed multiple times in a row this way. Or does the time spent while paralysed count towards climbing the stairs?

Now that I think of it, of course it's clear that using stairs takes multiple turns from the way that monsters can move in or whack at you meanwhile. I guess it was just confusing that the paralysis didn't stop the action, just delayed it.

About the warden: What happens if something (poison/ally) kills the warden immediately after the lockup? Could the lock disappear again before your stair action is finished, so that you would still get through? Or does the locking abort the action in this case?

No. You have a short duration paralysis immunity when it wears off.

You can also escape constriction by moving up stairs, then immediately get constricted again (wasting the turn) because the constriction immunity after escaping was designed under the assumption that every action takes 10 aut.
