Remove net tearing

Could net tearing be removed? There are like 5 different types of torn nets and they are really annoying in the inventory.

Just make them always mulch after trapping.

I'd rather they mulch randomly. This way we won't need to flood the dungeon with nets to enable a net-user playstyle.

This also solves having to unwield your weapon and struggle a bit to get out damaging it as little as possible if you can't blink.

The mulch chance could vary with the size of the monster, which would leave nets working just about the same way.

brendan: Sounds good to me. I think it can go just in. If you're really cautious, can ask on ##crawl-dev for opinions.

What if instead of tearing, they worked like Pathfinder?

The net is unfolded when used. unfolded nets work at like -5 or something, and exist as another inventory slot, "unfolded nets" until you take some amount of time per net to re-fold them.

This would make them a bit more tactically interesting (when are you really going to have time to fold a net in a zig?) than just straight mulch like arrows.

How nets behave in zigs does not matter very much*. How they behave on D:3 matters a lot. And there are ample opportunities to spend a bunch of time doing whatever on D:3.

* But: when you've cleared the zig floor.

i agree. I usually just drop torn nets because I don't want the inventory slot wasted. A chance for them to mulch based on the size of the monster is a great idea.

Actually nets are a bit silly if you think about it, if they work on 27-headed hydras and dragons.

Oh and there are 4 net types:

+0 Throwing net
-1, -2 Frayed throwing net
-3, -4, -5 Torn throwing net
-6 or worse Falling apart throwing net
