Since when can orc priests smite you when you're invisible?

I just lost a character who was smote to death after quaffing !invis

Honestly I can't complain; I was blind quaffing anyway. I'm just surprised. Was this always in the game?

I think it's been this way for a while at least; no idea about always.

Just like you can *sometimes* tell where invisible monsters are, it makes sense that they can at least *sometimes* do the same to you .
