Impressed with Trunk Halfling

They're still a rather limited class in terms of flexibility, but they are very good at what they do...AND they finally get Mutation Res +1, which many suggested for flavor! When did this finally get implemented?
I'm impressed.

Re: Impressed with Trunk Halfling

what about adding a bit more flavor?
Let them have hairy feet! (1AC). if boots worn, bonus is nullified.

Re: Impressed with Trunk Halfling

hair don't protect against damage. It could protect you from cold damage when walking on ice if the game was called nethack ;)

not just hairy. Very thick tolkien-hobbit-hairy!
Have you seen lord of the rings movie? All those little suckers had, like, a wig on each feet. They even didnt wear any boots most of the time

Re: Impressed with Trunk Halfling

The cold res would only apply to their feet because halflings aren't particularly hairy on the rest of their bodies.
If you want to incorporate the big feet, how about giving them Stealth + in exchange for the inability to wear shoes?

Trunk halfling owns hard, i did a speed run 3 runer w a Berserker evade build, got a vorpal 10.10 quickblade in lair which got me thru zot. New skill system hugely help to training stab and stealth.

Re: Impressed with Trunk Halfling

Several developers dislike the Halfling species. Ramming Tolkien's hairy feet down our throats will _not_ improve the species' chances.

Re: Impressed with Trunk Halfling

For a while they were inferior kobolds, then Kobolds had their shields skill nerfed and halflings had it bumped and there were a couple of other small changes like that. I liked those changes as it's made me choose halfling a lot more often than kobold these days (at least when I want shields+slings).

Tsk. What do you have against invertebrates and nonhumanoid vertebrates? Chauvinism, that's what this is.
