Reciting to an unseen monster.

In my last game I found a "recite" resriction that made a life harder. Deep Elf Fighter went invisible during fight and I wanted to try confusing him via recitation. But then I found that if I see nothing, reciting fails due to no audience. Is it intended to be so?

I think this is probably just a weird corner in the interface (that there is no equivalent to Z for invocations).

Why shouldn't a Zin follower be allowed to talk to himself?

It's kind of hypnosis, the follower needs eye contact

There have been times when I have wanted to retreat, recite, and wait for enemies to come around a corner. I don't know how recite effects work well enough to know how the first turn is different from other turns, or if more turns of exposure increase effects, but I think I would like to be able to use recite without enemies in view.

It adds realism if the pious self-obsessed adventurer has no idea whether anyone is listening to his sermons or not.

Do you remember follower had to pick 1 recite type out of 4 in previous versions? You cannot do it when you don't know who is listening to you.

Hah, yeah... Recite used to be pretty hilariously bad. It used to also prevent all other actions...

Well, you can just rely on the spirit of Zin to supply the message that is most needed. If recognizing the text messages tells you what class of invisible enemy is nearby, then that's a minor buff to Zin that can be easily tolerated.

When you learn something by heart you should repeat a verse again and again. Maybe I just want to rememer some of the axioms even when I switch from Zin to TSO!
