Can boggarts summon uniques?

I was fighting 3 boggarts, i quickly poisoned and killed them, but i think one of them summoned frances before i could kill them. Frost giant and merfolk also appeared to the room, and none of these had purple dot in the corner of the icon which indicates summon.

Was there a guardian serpent in the room? They recently gained an ability to call in enemies from elsewhere on the floor.

You could check Frances to see if he is summoned.

The gurdian serpent thing is probably what happened.

Boggarts cannot summon uniques, but guardian serpents and convokers can recall them from other parts of the same level.
