I have died strangely. Is anybody can figure out what happenned?

  Code:
The sky beast misses you. The sky beast flickers out of sight!
Deactivating autopickup; reactivate with Ctrl-A.
It hits you. It shocks you!
* * * LOW HITPOINT WARNING * * *
Casting: Vampiric Draining
You can't see any susceptible monsters within range! (Use Z to cast anyway.)
You start resting. Eating a chunk of bat flesh {@*1}. It hits you.
* * * LOW HITPOINT WARNING * * *
It shocks you.

I wanted to cast Vampiric draining on a sky beast, but my hand slipped and I failed to hold down shift when pressing 'z'. After it I died immediately. I see from the logs that I started resting for some reason, but whats really strange is that I did not get interrupted when the Sky Beast hit me 6 (!) times.

Maybe this?

I thought eating was supposed to be interruptible now (you lose the uneaten portion). Or did that change not go through?

Edit: Hrrm, I guess not. As crate said in the important lessons thread

crate wrote:crawl food is the tastiest thing you can imagine. Once you start eating, there is nothing short of death that will ever convince your character to stop stuffing his face with the nutritious goodness of that bread ration.

That doesn't explain chunks though. We're explicitly told that chunks taste terrible.

It looks like it's a bug interaction with auto-eat. You started resting and normally crawl would stop resting when an invis monster hit you. However here, the resting caused auto-eat to trigger and so you started eating and died from that.

Also, to clarify: the sky beast actually only attacked you 3 times, but it deals damage twice with each attack (base damage, then the af_elec damage). Eating a chunk takes 3 turns, so this fits.
