Can the royal jelly swim?

In particular I want to know how feasible it is for a fehdas worshiper to trap the royal jelly with rain, and which if any of its spawns can also swim. Since I will probably die horribly before I am ready to decend the Pits I wanted to see if it was even hypothetically a good idea. The royal jelly, azure jellies, and acid blobs resists asphyxiation but are not amphibious. So I have an inkling that it will work, but I am not exactly sure what resist asphix is for (maybe curare resist?).

Also a more general question: I also noticed that some other monsters (e.g. shadow dragons) have drowning listed for resistances using the knowledge bots. Does this have any meaning in game terms?

Re: Can the royal jelly swim?

Drowning resistance means it can't drown. Monster with this tag won't autodie like everything else in deep water, and can pass through it safely.

Amphibious changes the effect that water has on movement speed (amphibious monsters go faster in water).

I think the asphyxiation flag means they won't be killed by curare closing off their airway. ...either cause they don't breathe, or have an airway.

Looking at the royal jelly, yes, you could theoretically kill it by downing it in a rain made puddle. I doubt it'll hold still for that though, nor will it's escorts ignore you.

Is there a way to make rain other than wearing the Robe of Clouds?

Re: Can the royal jelly swim?

Did some wizmode testing. Your drowning stratagem, while clever, doesn't seem to work.

Once you submerge the royal jelly in deep water (which takes a lot of rain spam) he doesn't die. He just disappears. Then you just "hear a splashing sound" for a long time, until he find some shallow water to emerge in. ...I guess he wanders around on the bottom? Though there's no submerged disturbance, and it takes forever to reaper.

I really can't explain this behavior. Doesn't make much sense to me.

Well now I hope I can try this without dieing horribly. I am thinking now it may be better to seal off the vault that it spawns in before it wakes up so I don't have to even risk being next to it.

I tried that method before. I used 2-3 high power Water cards, but the Royal Jelly didn't drown. It'd be easier to just use a Tomb card and a Vitrification card to Airstrike the Royal Jelly and its spawns to death.
