Looks like there's a cursed skull blocking the way to Crypt.

As the title says. I personally think it is as cruel as placing oklob plants on lair:1 near stairways to lair:2.

That's gotta be a stairway to crypt, because I didn't see other possible entrances on vault 2 or 3.

I'll probably have to come back later, but what are your suggestions to take him out?

Well I'm playing as a High Elf Archer, so getting firestorm doesn't seem like an ideal option.

Obviously I'm not gonna try to take him now, but even if I hit lv 27 I'm not sure if I can kill it fast enough before it starts tormenting me+spamming summons. No portal projectile yet as well.

Yeah, just walk away for now. Finish checking out Dungeon for other options you may acquire (rN+, Portal Projectile, etc.).

Ancient liches are still pretty much the most of your worries, but the other monsters are pretty nasty too. There's some strong sixfery-like melee, flayed ghosts have smite-targeted irresistible damage, deep elf necromancers are frequent, skeletal warrior bunches come with ancient champions who have strongish spells, and there's a new shadow-flame undead that's pretty nasty and heals from fire damage -- including its own fireballs. Crypt is no longer trivial.

OP, curse skulls don't regenerate quickly, so you can shoot one a few times (use portal projectile if necessary) and then back off and run around until the spawns time out. After that, you can return and finish the job. Also, if you have a Rod of Inaccuracy, it can take out the skull very quickly.

Crawliwki on 0.13 said Yred doesn't gift flayed anymore.

Anyway, I cleared out cursed skull with holy wrath long sword while being hasted. Delved into crypt, and I did find it more challenging, though not as difficult as I imagined it to be. Maybe it's because I have a holy wrath weapon I picked it from the dungeon.

Though new plague shambler is a real pain. Why does the black miasma range is so wide? I feel its range should be decreased a bit, right now it feels like a spore that takes multiple hits to go down.

If you start walking away as soon as the shambler dies, you'll never end up in miasma. Unless you're slowed or something, I suppose.

Anyone know what the new "retch" status they inflict does?

I've been getting them pretty frequently on webtiles the past few days. So either it changed since Sunday afternoon or the wiki is wrong.
