+8 aptitude.

Hello.

I have a very simple question - is it possible to have aptitudes more then +5?
Reason - on one of my recent SpWz I have found the manual of dodging. THe Sp aptitude for dodging is +4 and the manual is also adding +4. SO i need to consider if I am learning dodging on aptitude +8 or +5? Was not able to find the unswer for this question on wiki, unfortunately.

Merfolk start with a +4 polearms apt, you can add +8 to this via crosstraining bonuses. Add another +4 from a manual and you get an effective polearms aptitude of +16. I don't think it's possible to go above 16 in anything.

Anyway, to directly answer your question, the skill screen should be saying "4 +4" for your apt, since you have the manual. That's what it means... there's no hidden cap at 5.

It's not additional XP, it just takes much less XP to level up, so you can spend the remaining XP elsewhere.

It's marketing-induced thinking: you're "getting more EXP" because you got a discount. It's incorrect, but it gets people buying so marketing is satisfied.
