manuals + ashenzari

So if I'm understanding correctly, a manual doubles your exp gain in the given skill. And Ashenzari lets you transfer exp at the cost of 10% of the exp transferred. Does that mean you can read a manual and train a totally useless skill, reskill it to the skill you want, and gain 80% more exp than just training normally?

I don't see why not

you'd have to be pretty lucky to get the right manual though

Re: manuals + ashenzari

That, and ashe-skill transfer is a bit of a piety gas-guzzler. And manuals expire after a set amount of EXP gain. So even if it's an unintended bug, it really is restricted enough in its usage that it's less of a bug and more of a feature, which is cool. I mean, it effectively lets you use any manuals as a manual for a skill you care about at the cost of lots of piety....and for Ashenzari only. That's cool with me.

But then, haven't wizmode tested this either, so I have no idea how exp is actually processed.

His point was, ANY manual can be turned into a boost for the skill he wants.

Re: manuals + ashenzari

This should be doable, and has reasonable drawbacks built into it (you have to train a useless skill for a while, meaning you aren't training something that is actively helping you - and there is the time/piety involved in the skill transfer as well).
