Spriggan Enchanter help.

Ok, Im a spriggan enchanter and Im level six. Ive made it through the sewers :D . I know Corona and Ensorcelled Hibernation. This is the best I have ever done with a spriggan enchanter. Any tips about what spells to learn and how to survive? :?:

Oh yeah, thought I might tell you, Ive never had an Ascension. :?

Re: Spriggan Enchanter help.

Actually, I'm sort of wondering the same thing and mine is level 13. I have 15 spare spell levels

I got almost this far with just Ensorcelled Hibernation and patient Stabbing. I added Confusion a while back for the times when EH has failed me (and I can't use it again, since creatures get immunity for a while), and, just recently, Invisibility (which is super handy as Death Yaks seem to resist the other two). Both have been very useful.

This is all from the first book. I've found a big pile of other books though, in various other really unhelpful high-level schools :P

Amusingly I've managed to acquire Necromancy 5 from a single Sage card... I have no idea what I'm going to do with that either!

I've not ascended this game yet either... fun though, isnt it?

[edit: just found the Book of the Dragon and learned Flight because it seemed interesting. Still, that leaves 10. Hmm.]
I am sure I played flawflessly. This was an utmost unfair death. -- gorbeh

Re: Spriggan Enchanter help.

You can never go wrong with:

Haste
Blink
Dispel Undead
Swiftness
Teleport Self
Control Teleport

more or less in this order.

Re: Spriggan Enchanter help.

There's more than enough teleportation from wands and scrolls; don't bother with Teleport Self.
Repel Missiles is usually good enough, so I typically don't bother with Deflect Missiles.
Swiftness is useless on a spriggan.
Only bother with silence if you can dish out some melee damage.
Ordering is bad, too; I usually get spells in whatever order I find/need them.

Re: Spriggan Enchanter help.

That Necromancy skill will come in handy if you find a pain weapon. Skill 5 doesn't turn into a huge damage bonus, but it's better than nothing.
You fall off the wall. You have a feeling of ineptitude.

Re: Spriggan Enchanter help.

Branch out into translocations. If at all possible you will want to learn controlled blink as it will allow you to stab anything. Other then that repel missile, butterflies, blink, controlled teleport, and haste are all either on skill or low enough level that you won't need to consider training other skills. Summoning is good to learn for abjuration, and will eventually fill in holes in your characters weaknesses with some high level summons. This of course may be moot depending on the god you worship (good gods ban high level summons, and Nemelex makes summons redundant).
