Best Race for a Chaos Knight?

I've been thinking about playing a Chaos Knight of Makhleb (Blood and Souls for Makhleb!). Which race would work best with it? Mountain Dwarves?

Pretty much anything works well with Makhleb. Deep Dwarves and Demonspawn are particularly great.

Mountain Dwarves are pretty good, as are demonspawn.

Deep Dwarves are best to start as Necromancers and then pick up Makhleb.

I also like Merfolk - I believe they can get a +2 trident to start which is pretty decent.
KoCK is also popular I think.

deep dwarves are just fine as chaos knights of Makhleb; it's mostly a matter of personal preference

Choose any race but hurry. Chaos knight of Makhleb has its head on the block.

They want to cut down on the number of starting gods, or at least put them into separate classes. I don't think this would be quite the tragedy for Mahklebites; It's not that hard to get a fighter-type to the temple.
