The first I've had for a while, worse base class but better brand and enchantment.
The second I got from acquirement, still an okay brand but is it worth enchanting up?

What's your Axes skill?
Executioner's Axe is great if your skill is high enough that it is faster than average; then you have to top out the skill. Till then use the battleaxe.

You can also always swap out.

Wouldn't the battle axe with freezing be acceptable for a 3-runer? Not as great as an .exe axe, but still alright?

A battleaxe of freezing is a very good weapon and you can win with it. There's no reason to if you have an executioner's axe, but if it was one's best weapon that wouldn't be a problem. That is, before recent axe nerfs it wouldn't be, perhaps 15(?) damage battleaxes are bad for winning.

That guy died on Spider:4 because Spider is effing dangerous.
