What does corruption actually do?

Just curious, tried a few AKs for the hell of it and just wondered what the scoop was. Thanks in advance!

Re: What does corruption actually do?

It's useful for an AK to use in the temple, so you can make an early Lucy altar to corrupt your weapon at.

It's also great for breaking into rune vaults and the like. It often opens a new way it, and you can grab / apport the rune and run, or just hoof it and then come back later after the defenders and abyssal demons are done killing each other.

The important thing to remember is that the monsters summed are neutral- which is kind if an unintuitive and odd behavior. They may randomly attack you or monsters for the hell of it. If things attack them, they get annoyed and attack right back. You can't move-displace them either, you just attack without a confirmation. All in all, it makes them a little tricky to use effectively- the best strategy is to let 'em lose and run.
