Trove Trade Worth It?

So, I have a great MfGl with 5 good mutations,0 bad mutations (super lucky mut roulette at level 5 gave me slow metabolism, fur, and thick feet) no rmut source, 3 potions of cmut, and shoal and swamp runes.

The trove wants 2 potions of cmut to let me in.

I really have no idea what to do. If I had a rmut amulet, I would go for it. But I don't know what to do now.

I'd go for it. You'll still have one !cmut. With all those good mutations, you probably won't want to risk removing them until you have two or three really bad mutations. That may not ever happen, or not for a long time, by which you may have found either an rmut amulet or more potions.

What are thick feet good for?

Re: Trove Trade Worth It?

You might as well. The trove might have something useful in it, and if you happen to get a truly crippling mutation in the future and the third potion doesn't help, you still have Zin and Jiyva conversions in reserve to fix yourself back up.

Hooves 1. Basically useless, since you can still wear boots, but also harmless, because you can still wear boots.

I may be wrong about this, because they may be melding along with my boots, but as a merfolk, I'm spending as much time as possible in the water, boots melded, slapping fools with my feet/tail.

Bear in mind that it's quite possible that you find a Rmut Amulet in the trove, and that troves are generated with 16 acquirement grade items, which means you'll get at least a couple equipment upgrades and maybe a couple wands. Though I seem to get the jewelry trove often.

Totally worth it. 4 artifact helms 4 artifact cloaks, and boots of running.

Thank you!

Aren't almost all troves worth it? The only trove that disappointed me was one that required a the slime rune, all other troves I've entered and swam through like a Scrooge McDuck Money Pit.

The most common wasted trove is probably getting a weapon trove when you already have your endgame weapon, or you're fighting unarmed. It's also completely possible to roll a trove of the right type that has absolutely nothing you need. I remember once getting a jewelry trove once with absolutely zero artefacts. And despite the huge pile of mundane amulets, I was still missing rMut after that.

So yes. Worthless troves are possible.

On average though, the odds of getting something useful is usually worth risking, unless the requested entry item is particularly rare or actually important to you.
