Do you have another way of evoking blink? I'm leaning heavily toward the CPA. Its hard to decide when we don't have your chardump though. Do you have any rF+ yet? Any rC+? Enough str to wear CPA? Armour skill?

Nope. No other way to evoke blink. And i am not skilled at magic at all.
if i take of my armour i will still have rf+ and no cold resist and no rN. strength is around 27 when i put on CPA, so it is more then enough. armour skill is around 20.

Re: Which armour is better?

The CPA gives you better defenses but the plate is better in every other way. Mmm slaying, mmm +blink, mmm rF+. Definitely the plate if you have a ring of teleport control to make them semicontrolled blinks.

The CPA is actually better.

Re: Which armour is better?

CPA makes you just as invulnerable as scblink

(i am making fun of scblink worship because it is pretty hilarious at times, not saying something that doesn't make sense)

I'm curious... General advice is that the best defense is a good offense, so I would have thought the slaying bonus on the CPA would be more beneficial than some extra AC and GDR. At what point does the AC benefits outweigh the Slaying?

Acc+4 and Dam+4 aren't that great.

Re: Which armour is better?

Slaying used to be better when it was multiplied by weapon skills.
As for the difference in AC, it's 34 for the CPA and 26 for the plate armour at Armour skill 20. At skill level 27 it's 39 and 29.

Sometimes it is clearer if you think of the two items as rings. Which ring would you rather wear: a +4 slaying ring with rF+ and +blink (1) or a +10 AC ring with rC+ (2)? One is pretty good and a ring you would want to always wear in most games, and one is so overpowered that it can't even exist.

Re: Which armour is better?

It basically comes down to evokable blink vs a bunch of AC. RN+ is irrelevant except in special areas, rF and rC cancel and +4 slaying is weak and also cancels with the +stats. SCBlink is extremely powerful, but you also need to use a ring slot to get it. I assume you have scrolls, wands and potions for ecscaping so I'd go with the CPA in general.
