Avoiding Jiyva punishment??

Does this work? According to the information in the wiki it should, but I thought I'd check here first...

1. Join Jiyva.
2. Walk to bottom of slime pits, collect rune.
3. Ambush, kill royal jelly.
4. Abandon Jiyva. Since he no longer has any intelligent followers, he fades away and can't punish you.
5. Join a new god.

If this does work, how much of my stash should I expect to be eaten while I'm in the slime pits?

It doesn't work. He is kept alive by his hatred of you (and then fades away when his wrath ends).

Also if Dissolution (unique) is around, he is conceptually still worshiped, but yeah, hatred.

I like the idea of a god whose existence depends on its hatred of me - such power!

But it does suggest Jiyva is not rational:
- only my hatred of you keeps me alive
- because of my hatred I will attempt to destroy you
- if I destroy you the only thing that keeps me alive will not exist.
And so...

I guess it's a hatred that blinds.
